Most people are stuck in their homes right now and things are not going to change in the near future since the coronavirus pandemic does not seem to be slowing down. With this in mind, why not consider picking up some gardening? If you cannot do this, you could at least start to take care of some indoor plants.
The problem is that most people do not really know much about plants. They have no idea how to take care of them. The good news is that some are simpler to manage than others. You will not go wrong with any of the following indoor plants. If you want to consider some outdoor flowers, you can also look at these options.
Snake Plant

The name of the plant comes from the upright, thin leaves that are very similar in appearance to snakeskin. This only makes it look cooler.
Snake plant is a very low-maintenance option that can easily survive droughts. It is great for beginners that are prone to forget about watering.
Bright light is preferred by the plant but it can do well if light levels are low. Snake plants are capable of filtering out some chemicals like xylene, trichloroethylene, formaldehyde and benzene so the quality of the air inside your home will be higher.
Pothos

Most people do not know anything about this plant. It is often known as cubicle plant and is great for beginners. It will start small and has trailing vines that can grow to a length of 10 feet. This is true even indoors, with low light access.
Pothos can be grown very fast and is capable of propagating in water. Also, the plant does filter out chemicals, just like the snake plant.
Dracaena

Those that are very busy on a day to day basis need to grow a plant that is low-maintenance and easy going. Dracaena is exactly that. It can easily adapt to varying light environments, but you want to keep it away from the sun.
Dracaena Lisa is the hardiest of these plants and can deal with temperature and seasonal changes in a highly effective way.
ZZ Plant

Few people even know about this plant but it is great for indoors because it thrives when the light environment is lower. This is a drought tolerant plant with very low maintenance needs. Its rhizomes can store water and do wonders at helping the plant survive. At the same time, it helps deal with infrequent waterings. Simply put, you can water the plant just one time per month.
Spider Plant

The spider plant is preferred by many because it gives an instant jungle vibe that looks great in many rooms of the home. It is enjoyed by many indoor plant lovers and is also great for beginners. Bright light is necessary but there is no need to be faced with direct sun. You can simply put the spider plant in a room that has large windows but you have to keep it away from a windowsill. Many live the plant because it is a very strong air purifier.
